Santa Petronilla Waterfall
The Santa Petronilla waterfall is located above Biasca and is the highest waterfall in Ticino. It can be reached from the village in about 30 minutes on foot via an easy, well-maintained path. At the top, there is a nice view over the valley, and around the waterfall you will find quiet spots to sit and take a break.
Funicular Ritom-Piora
The Ritom-Piora funicular in Ticino is one of the steepest in the world and connects Piotta with the mountain area around Lake Ritom. In just a few minutes, it covers a large elevation gain and takes visitors into the landscape of Val Piora. At the top, there are various hiking trails, alpine lakes and wide views to explore.
Tibet Suspension Bridge Route Riasc
"The circular trail to the Ponte Tibetano near Bellinzona leads through forests and small settlements to the well-known suspension bridge. The path is easy to walk and offers nice views along the way. The bridge, around 270 metres long, hangs high above the valley and connects two sides of the mountain. The trail then continues as a loop back to the starting point."
Canyoning
Canyoning in the Bellinzona e Valli region takes you through gorges, over rocks and along mountain streams. You move on foot through the water, slide over rocks and pass small waterfalls. Tours range from easy beginner routes to more demanding ones. Proper equipment and experienced guides are important. An active way to experience nature up close.
Casa Cavalier Pellanda
Casa Cavalier Pellanda is located in the old village centre of Biasca and dates back to the 16th century. The former residence is one of the notable historic buildings in the region. The house still shows its original structure, with a clearly arranged façade, large rooms and a sheltered garden. Today, it is used as a cultural venue with exhibitions and events.
Paradise for the MTB
The Bellinzona e Valli region offers many mountain bike routes through valleys, forests and mountain landscapes. The trails are well maintained and, depending on the route, can be ridden throughout the year. There are tours for different levels – from easy rides to more demanding routes with significant elevation gain. A versatile area for anyone who enjoys being outdoors on a bike.
